Hey Reader, Let me be super honest, I never really felt like I fit in as a producer. Not when I started. Not even after I got good lol I wasn’t the type to stay up all night in the studio. I don’t smoke. I don’t drink much. I’m not about the entourage or the parties or flexing on socials. That whole lifestyle most people associate with the music industry… Just wasn’t me. And when I first started as an intern in a label in Miami, surrounded by gangsta rap and hardcore hip hop, I felt like an outsider. My vibe was more soul, R&B, jazz… Sade energy. Smooth. Intentional. Emotional. So for a long time, I doubted myself. I thought maybe I wasn’t cut out for this. That I had to become someone else to make it. That being me wasn’t enough. But everything changed when I doubled down on who I actually am. I realized I don’t have to compete with anyone. Because what I offer, no one else is doing it like this. 💡 I help independent artists release music with intention. 🎧 I don’t just sell beats, I build sonic stories that fit their identity. 📢 I help artists craft a brand, a strategy, a plan, so their music isn’t just dropped, it’s launched. 📚 I teach artists the business side too, so they’re protected, paid, and empowered. That’s what I bring to the hip hop world. A different perspective. A creative approach. And a whole lot of heart. If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t belong in this industry because you don’t look, act, or move like “everybody else”… Please hear me when I say: That doesn’t mean you’re in the wrong place. It means you’re here to do something different. I’d love to hear your story, too. DM me on Instagram @babimusiclife Tell me how you’re shaping your own lane. Much love, |

Hey Reader, Let’s talk about something that makes a lot of independent artists uncomfortable. Money. More specifically, making money from your music. I’ve noticed something over the years. A lot of artists feel weird about selling. Some feel like charging for their art makes them a “sell out.”Some feel like it’s shameful to promote their work. Some quietly think: Who am I to put a price on this? I’ve had that belief too. I used to think: Who am I to charge for a session?Who am I to charge for...
Hey Reader, I want to share a moment that changed everything for me. When I first started, I thought my job was simple: Make beats. Record vocals. Deliver the project. Clock in, clock out. Keep it moving. But then one night in the studio, I was working with an artist who came in heavy. Life heavy. The kind of “I don’t even know if I’m supposed to be doing music anymore” heavy. I told her “let’s just do something from scratch, no youtube beats, just whatever feels right for you right now” So...
Hey Reader, I have to take accountability, cause even when I always say you don't have to this alone, there was a time I thought I could do it all myself I was juggling studio sessions, producing beats, recording artists, planning releases, and building my brand… all while working other jobs to pay the bills. I wore every hat: producer, engineer, manager, marketer, sometimes even the coffee runner. At first, it felt empowering. But soon, I noticed something I thought was just a burn out, but...
